General Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 18 June 2026
1. Scope
These terms govern the relationship between patients and ST Med am Sternen ("the practice") regarding medical treatment and related services.
2. Treatment contract
With the first consultation a mandate (Art. 394 ff. Swiss Code of Obligations) is concluded between the patient and the treating physician. The practice owes diligent treatment according to recognised medical standards, but not a specific outcome.
3. Information and consent
Before any examination or treatment you will be informed about its nature, purpose, risks and alternatives. Procedures take place only with your consent.
4. Appointments and cancellations
Please cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance. For late cancellations or no-shows we reserve the right to charge the reserved time according to our tariff. These costs are not reimbursed by health insurers.
5. Fees and invoicing
Billing follows the applicable Swiss medical tariff (TARMED/TARDOC) and analyses/MiGeL lists. Non-reimbursable services (e.g. aesthetic treatments, certificates, certain nutrition advice) are invoiced at the corresponding private tariff, communicated before the service is provided.
Invoices are issued under the "tiers garant" model (you pay and reclaim from your insurer) or, where agreed, "tiers payant". Invoices are due within 30 days. Late payment triggers reminder fees and statutory default interest; collection may be assigned to third parties.
6. Insurance
It is your responsibility to verify your insurance coverage (basic/supplementary, deductible, retention). The practice gives no guarantee that costs will be reimbursed.
7. Liability
Liability is governed by statutory provisions. Liability for slight negligence and for auxiliary persons is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
8. Data protection and confidentiality
Our Privacy Policy and medical confidentiality (Art. 321 Swiss Criminal Code) apply.
9. House rules
Photo and audio recordings inside the practice without prior consent are prohibited. We reserve the right to refuse service to persons whose behaviour is inappropriate or threatening.
10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies. Exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zurich, subject to mandatory statutory venues.
